About
Have you ever admired the painting Christina's World by Andrew Wyeth? I love that work of art. One day returning home I saw this barn on the hill with the morning sun illuminating it sensuously, and it reminded me of that famous painting. I have gone back to the location, but the barn was demolished last spring. It makes me sad when progress results in the destruction of something we love. At least I have this photograph to remind me of this incredible moment.
Landscapes
This photograph of a vintage train in Garibaldi, Oregon was captured on a rainy, foggy morning on the Oregon Coast. I timed the shot to capture the steam as it was released when the train was coming to a stop. The black and white conversion was accomplished using NIK Silver Efex Pro 2 using Afga 100 simulation and the underexposure preset. A custom preset was developed to enhance the highlights and shadows.
